The Station House Hotel is one of the few Meath Hotels near Newgrange. Bru na Boinne visitor centre is apx 25km from The Station House Hotel.

Newgrange is one of Meath's treasures. It is older than the Egyptian pyramids. It is listed as a UNESCO site. At the mound of Newgrange you will find Bru na Boinne which is the home of Newgrange's visitor centre. You can do a tour of Newgrange from here and also enter the passage tomb. Knowth and Dowth are similar to Newgrange and also available to view from the Bru na Boinne centre.

The busiest time of the year for Newgrange is the Winter Solstice. During these precious few minutes, the sun shines through the roof box and directly in to the tomb. This takes place on the shortest day of the year on December 21st. To be one of the lucky visitors on this day you must enter a lottery which can be done via email at
