“When our parents purchased the Station House in Kilmessan in 1981, it was like a Famous Five adventure set in the Boyne Valley. There were woods, rivers and fields to explore, wild berries to pick, real frogs to find, and a discovery around every corner!
Our new home, which already had five children in it, soon began welcoming guests from Ireland and beyond, when our mother – Thelma Slattery – started her Bord Fáilte guest house later that year. And of course it didn’t stop there. On the evening of Easter Saturday 1984, Thelma and our father, Chris, opened the Signal Restaurant and launched The Station House Hotel, which has been attracting guests from near and far, ever since.
At The Station House, we always strive to provide our guests with an experience as distinctive as its beautiful setting, coupled with the warmth and welcome of that bustling family home. Twelve acres of lush gardens and woodland, home-cooking using locally produced ingredients, a carefully curated wine list, and individually decorated rooms, all come together to make your stay with us a memorable one. We hope you love The Station House and its surroundings as much as we do, and we look forward to welcoming you when you come to visit.”
