Honeymooner’s Guide: A Luxurious Romantic Escape in Thailand

For honeymooners seeking a destination straight out of a romantic adventure movie, Yao Noi, Thailand, is the ultimate escape. Nestled in the stunning Phang Nga Bay, this tropical paradise comes highly recommended by Suzanne Slattery, director of The Station House Hotel. In her interview with The Gloss magazine, titled “Want to Know Where Ireland’s Top Hoteliers Holiday?”, Suzanne—a seasoned globetrotter with over a decade of experience living in the Middle East and Asia—described her visit to Six Senses Yao Noi as her most memorable holiday experience.

Keep reading to discover what makes Yao Noi so special and why it’s one of our top picks for the perfect honeymoon destination!

A Thrilling Arrival Straight Out of Hollywood

“Our arrival was the most exhilarating thing I’ve ever experienced. It was like being in a James Bond movie. We were driven from Phuket International Airport to the local marina, where we were whisked away by speed boat, with only the moonlight to guide us.” Suzanne recalled. “There was thunder and lightning, too, for added effect!” Despite the dramatic weather, she felt completely safe in the hands of seasoned skippers who knew the waters like the back of their hands.

Upon stepping onto the island, Suzanne and her party were warmly greeted by the resort’s General Manager and their dedicated “Guest Experience Maker” (GEM)—a personal butler who ensured their every need was met. “Within an hour, we were fully immersed in the Six Senses experience,” she said, describing the resort’s enchanting features: “kitchen gardens dotted around the resort, bicycles to get around, sand paths, naturally made lemongrass bath products in glass jars, tropical forests, and wild gardens.”

Suzanne’s Hideaway Pool Villa was a dream come true, complete with a private pool, indoor and outdoor showers, muslin canopies, and a huge bath surrounded by tropical plant canopy. “Truly something out of a desert island movie,” she gushed.

Food, Wellness, and a Thrid-Eye Opening Spa Experience

Six Senses is renowned for its organic, chemical-free cuisine. “The food was amazing, with all of the Thai flavors and mixes you can imagine, paired with fantastic wines and cocktails,” Suzanne shared.

The highlight of her trip? A spa experience that redefined relaxation. “I had a four-hand massage and hot oil poured over my third eye—it was unlike anything I’ve experienced before or since,” she recalled.

During this heavenly retreat, Suzanne discovered Voya bath and body products, crafted from organic Irish seaweed. Instantly captivated, she knew they had to be part of The Station House Hotel. “I was on to the team at home as soon as I got a phone signal!” she laughed.

Now, these luxurious seaweed-based products are a staple at The Station House Hotel, offering a touch of Thai-inspired serenity in the heart of Ireland. Visit our Giftshop to purchase one of our hampers and indulge in the luxury of Voya for yourself!
